Ace Football previews the Premier League clash between Leicester City and Aston Villa, and offers the latest betting tips, line-ups, odds, and team news.

The final Premier League fixture of the weekend will conclude with Leicester City welcoming Aston Villa to the King Power Stadium on Sunday night.

Both teams have enjoyed solid starts to their respective campaigns, having broken into the top-four. Villa’s rise to the upper half, in particular, has been a surprise. Not to mention that 7-2 hammering of Liverpool last time, which may well leave Leicester feeling a little nervous.

This tie looks pretty mouth-watering indeed, with the two sides having played out goal-laden affairs in recent fixtures.

Leicester City Form & Stats

Brendan Rodgers’ side got off to the perfect start by winning their opening three games of 2020/21. Thrashing Manchester City 5-2 in their own backyard was the cherry on the cake.

But all that momentum gained from that spectacular victory was wiped out in unforgiving fashion by West Ham, who brushed aside a stunned Leicester City at the King Power 3-0. On the bright side, though, the international break came straight afterward. Therefore, Rodgers has had a fortnight to soften the blow.

The Foxes’ boss acknowledged the threat heading to Filbert Way in his pre-match conference on Saturday. However, he believes a good start will make life easier for his team but conceded ‘the international break hasn’t been kind to us’.

Star defender Caglar Soyuncu is injured, and there are even doubts over Jamie Vardy’s availability. The striker sustained a calf problem in training on Thursday and could be a last-minute decision.

Key Team Stats
  • Won three of their last four home games in all competitions.
  • Over 2.5 goals in their last four league games.
  • Won four of their last five league games against Aston Villa (D1).

Aston Villa Form & Stats

After their unbelievable 7-2 win over Premier League champions Liverpool, Villa head to the King Power hoping to pull off another upset.

The last time Dean Smith’s side faced Leicester, they fell to a 4-0 loss before lockdown began in March. It left them second-bottom in the standings and seemingly destined for the drop. Seven months later, however, it’s a different story altogether.

Villa are the only team in the English top-flight to boast a 100% record this season following Everton’s draw against Liverpool. But what truly stands out is their defense, which has only conceded a league-best of two goals. They also kept back-to-back clean sheets in their opening games of the campaign.

Furthermore, Villa are unbeaten in their last seven league matches (W5 D2) and kept four clean sheets in the process.

Key Team Stats
  • Unbeaten in their last seven league games (W5 D2).
  • Scored in all of their last seven league games and kept four clean sheets.
  • Have scored the first goal in their last three league games.
  • Ollie Watkins has scored five goals in his last six games in all competitions.
