The Premier League awards for the best player, manager, and goal have been announced for the month of October 2021.

Player of the Month – Trent Alexander-Arnold

The Liverpool full-back has won his first Premier League Player of the Month award since December 2019, and the second of his career.

Alexander-Arnold earned his prize after supplying one goal and four assists in three Premier League games. He also helped Liverpool keep two clean sheets. His goal came courtesy of a brilliant free-kick against West Ham.

The 23-year-old is the second Liverpool player to win the league’s Player of the Month after Mohamed Salah in October.

Reds teammate Diogo Jota (Liverpool), Emmanuel Dennis (Watford), Joao Cancelo (Manchester City), Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), and John McGinn (Aston Villa) were also nominated.

Manager of the Month – Pep Guardiola

The Catalan has won the Premier League Manager of the Month for the 10th time in his career. He is now level with West Ham boss David Moyes with the joint third-highest total in the league’s history. Only Sir Alex Ferguson (27) and Arsene Wenger (15) have claimed the prize on more occasions.

Guardiola won his latest accolade after leading Manchester City to victories in all three of their league matches.

The Citizens began November with a 2-0 derby victory at Manchester United. They followed it up with a 3-0 home win against Everton, before beating West Ham 2-1 at the Etihad.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and new Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard were the other two nominees for the award.

Goal of the Month – Rodri

The Manchester City midfielder has won the Goal of the Month award after his thundering 25-yard strike against Everton.

Rodri brilliantly sent the ball into the top corner with a first-time effort from a distance to become the first City player to claim the accolade since Kevin De Bruyne in July 2020.
