Man City bagged the three points at the Etihad Stadium, keeping the pressure on Chelsea on top of the table.

Manchester City defeated West Ham 2-1 in their Premier League game on Sunday. The Citizens got their third league victory in a row, while West Ham slipped to fourth place.

Gundogan steals the show!

Manchester City dominated the possession early on, pushing to get the opener in the first half. Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring for the Citizens three minutes past the half-hour mark.

The Hammers intensified their efforts to get the equalizer, but they remained too cautious of their opponents’ counter-attacks. However, they were ultimately punished for their careless passing in the 90th minute. Following a poor pass from Jarrod Bowen, Gundogan provided a perfect pass for Fernandinho, who smashed the ball past Fabianski.

West Ham finally got the goal they were looking for in the fourth minute of the extra time. However, Manuel Lanzini’s screamer was not enough for the Hammers to escape the defeat.

Man City remain in second place on the league table as they eagerly wait for Chelsea’s first slip. On the other hand, West Ham are back to fourth place after spending a few weeks above Liverpool.
