After recording back-to-back wins in the Premier League, Wijnaldum has now called on his Liverpool teammates to avoid complacency.

Gini Wijnaldum has called on the Liverpool squad to keep their focus following their 3-1 victory over West Ham on Sunday.

After a poor run of five Premier League games without a win, the reigning champions have shown signs of recovery in recent fixtures.

Liverpool produced a convincing display to win 3-1 at Tottenham last Thursday, before yet another impressive outing against West Ham by the same score-line on Sunday.

Salah bagged a brace at the Olympic stadium before Wijnaldm sealed the victory six minutes from time.

It’s easy to think ‘Liverpool are back’ but the Dutchman wants their winning run to be extended before such comments can be made.

“I don’t want to say we are back because I think you have to show it every game again,” the Dutchman told Liverpool’s official website.

“Of course, every game is difficult but when the chance is there to create a chance like this we should do it.”

Wijnaldum added: “I think it’s a really bad thing to think that we are back because every game is another situation, another game, and another opponent.

“We have to do it again. I think we look at it that way and just try to play the games with confidence.”

Liverpool will be aiming to continue their winning run when they welcome Brighton to Anfield on Wednesday.
