It is no longer secret that Barcelona are actively interested in the services of Liverpool midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum.
Wijnaldum has once again responded to reports linking him with a move to Barcelona.
The Spanish giants reportedly made a move to sign the midfielder last summer. However, financial limitations meant the Catalan side had to cut short a number of their transfer plans.
With Wijnaldum out of contract at Liverpool by the end of the season, reports have once again linked him with a move to Spain. Just a few days ago, reports from the English media claimed an agreement in principle was already agreed.
Given the player’s relationship with Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman, there was every reason to see why both parties would fancy a move.
However, Barcelona were quick to deny those reports, claiming no such deal has been agreed yet.
While on international duty, Wijnaldum was asked about the possibility of a move to Barcelona.
He said as per Dutch outlet NOS: “They will always talk about these things but as I’ve said on other occasions, I have no news still.
“They say this in the media but I have no news. When there is I will talk about it, but there isn’t.”
“I’m here now to talk about the games against Turkey, Latvia and Gibraltar.”
