PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes has echoed earlier comments from teammate Neymar about playing alongside Lionel Messi at club level.
In the space of 24 hours, two PSG stars have publicly welcomed the idea of having Lionel Messi in the French capital. Midfielder Paredes is the latest name to do so.
It comes after Neymar publicly declared he would love to play alongside his former teammate next season.
Similar to Neymar, Paredes has a close connection with Messi as well. The pair are countrymen and are well familiar with each other on international duty for Argentina.
The Barcelona captain has a big decision to make regarding his future. He is out of contract at the club next summer and there are many indications to believe he could be on his way out. Although, some figures at the club still believe La Pulga could be convinced to sign a new contract.
Should Messi choose to leave Barca, only a few clubs would be able to realistically afford him. Aside from a certain Manchester City who were linked with the Argentine last summer, PSG happen to fall in the same category as well.
Echoing comments from Neymar, Paredes says the French giants will be happy to have the six-time Ballon d’Or winner at their club.
He told ESPN: “Messi at PSG? I hope so, we all want him to come but it will be his decision.
“We have an incredible squad, good players, good people, we take advantage of that.
“As I have said, I hope Leo will make the best decision for him, but we will welcome him with open arms.”
