Both managers were sent off by the referee after the final whistle.
Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel were held back by their respective coaching staff after getting into a bust-up in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Sunday.
Tensions boiled over on the touchline when Conte rushed to celebrate Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s equaliser in the face of Tuchel.
The fourth official quickly separated the two managers after Tuchel responded angrily to Conte’s celebration.
Chelsea went ahead again through Reece James’ second-half goal. However, Harry Kane snatched a final-minute equaliser for the Spurs, making it 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.
The England captain headed the ball into the back of the net after Ivan Perisic’s precise corner. However, a clear foul by Tottenham’s Romero on Cucurella before Perisic’s assist enraged Chelsea fans and Tuchel.
Following the final whistle, the German manager’s handshake with Conte quickly turned into a full-on bust-up. Once again, the coaching staff jumped in to separate the two managers. However, this time the referee sent both coaches out with straight red cards.
Chelsea will meet Leeds United after the London derby while Tottenham prepare to play their next league game against Wolves.
