Gareth Bale justified the chance Jose Mourinho gave him and delivered a wonderful goal for Tottenham against Wolfsberger.

Tottenham thrashed Austrian side Wolfsberger in Budapest with a 4-1 win. Jose Mourinho gave Spurs outcasts Dele Alli and Gareth Bale a shot at proving they were worth a spot in the starting lineup and the players delivered.

In fact, Gareth Bale gave fans a taste of his former self as he bagged a goal and an assist this Thursday night. The Welsh international set up Son Heung-Min for Tottenham’s opening goal. Moreover, Bale left Scherzer in the ground with a wonderful bit of skill and slammed the ball inside the net.

Although the Read Madrid loanee has been struggling at his new club, Spurs fans now have renewed hope that their former star can rise once again. Gareth Bale has featured in 17 matches for Tottenham this season, scoring five goals and setting up another.

Additionally, Brazilians Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius scored the Spurs’ other two goals. Jose Mourinho’s side now has a very comfortable lead for the second leg. The match will be played next week in London.
