Mourinho showed some class by applauding Dinamo Zagreb’s players for knocking his Tottenham squad out of the Europa League.
Jose Mourinho, like everybody else, was left baffled by how Tottenham blew a two-goal aggregate lead to lose 3-2 on aggregate to Dinamo Zagreb in a Europa League last-16 tie.
The London side headed to Zagreb off the back of a 2-0 first leg win. Everything seemed set for a routine win in the Croatian capital for the return leg. A Mislav Orsic hat-trick, however, sent Mourinho’s men crashing out.
And in brutal fashion at that..
The visitors, who had seven changes in the line-up, gave a poor display in Croatia. Like the Arsenal defeat last weekend, they didn’t really get going until the end of the match. At that stage, though, it was too little, too late.
But Mourinho at least showed some class by entering the Dinamo dressing room to applaud the players for their superb comeback win.
