Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku saved his side in a late drama at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the Champions League opener.
Romelu Lukaku netted a dramatic late equalizer for Inter Milan following a draw against Borussia Monchengladbach. Evidently, the Belgium striker rescued a point in Inter’s opening Champions League fixture on Wednesday.
Just after four minutes in the second half, Lukaku scored the first goal of the game. Consequently, the Inter striker now has eight goals in eight matches for his club and country.
However, Monchengladbach’s Ramy Bensebaini equalized things for his side from the penalty spot. This is because Arturo Vidal performed a reckless tackle on Marcus Thuram inside Inter’s box.
Initially, the match official continued the play following Vidal’s foul. Though, the VAR forced the referee to divert his decision to a penalty.

Furthermore, Lautaro Martinez came off the bench only to rattle Yann Sommer’s frame of the goal.
In the 84th minute, Jonas Hofmann kept his cool and slot it past Samir Handanovic to take the lead.
Although, on the 90th-minute mark, Lukaku managed to push the ball in the goal with his knee. This happened right after substitute Alessandro Bastoni’s header from a late corner for Inter.
