Manchester United’s new kid on the block has scored twice on his debut against Liverpool’s Under-23 team.

Amad Diallo has begun his career as a Red Devil in the best way possible. The 18-year-old featured in this Saturday’s clash between Manchester United and Liverpool’s Under-23 squads. Although it was a youth team fixture, United fans will be delighted to see the youngster hit the net for the first time against their club rivals.

In fact, the winger only needed 14 minutes on the pitch to score his first goal as a Red Devil. Diallo took advantage of a poor touch from a Liverpool defender and used his pace to effortlessly put the ball past the goalkeeper.

In the second half, Amad Diallo once again showed his composure and confidence as he was awarded the opportunity to score a penalty. The former Atalanta man put the ball past the goalkeeper Panenka style. In fact, Diallo scored United’s sixth and final goal of the match.

Manchester United’s Under-23 squad won 6-3 against Liverpool with four goals scored by 17-year-old Joe Hugill. The youngster’s brilliant performance wasn’t overlooked by the Red Devils’ first-team manager. Before the senior squad’s clash against Arsenal, Solskjaer gave his verdict on the young players. Their brilliant efforts may translate into a well-deserved opportunity under his wing.

“Four goals by Hugill, he’s a top striker as well, we’re looking forward to seeing his development. Amad [Diallo] gets a good start and why Joe didn’t take the penalty himself to get five goals I’m going to ask him.”
