Manchester United have announced they have finalized the details of Atalanta wonderkid Amad Diallo’s transfer.

The papers are in, the contract is settled, and that means Amad Diallo is now officially a Red Devil. Although the transfer was announced back in October, the 18-year-old’s arrival was still pending some minor details. In fact, Atalanta’s manager Gasperini had recently expressed his wish to keep Diallo on loan till the summer.

Nevertheless, Amad Diallo has agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract till June 2025 with the option of a year-long contract extension. The Ivory Coast forward will arrive in Manchester as soon as his visa application is accepted. Diallo joins the Red Devils €21 million transfer fee with another €20 million in add-ons.

Amad Diallo has been highly praised by his new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer although he has only played 59 minutes on a senior level for Atalanta.

“As a club, we have followed Amad for a number of years and having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game.”

The 18-year-old forward is eager to put on his new shirt.

The young player also offered United fans his first words as an official Red Devil. He expressed his excitement to join the Premier League side.

“After waiting since the summer, it is finally a dream come true to complete my move to Manchester United,” said Diallo. ” I am hugely ambitious and there is so much that I want to achieve in the game; when I spoke to the manager I knew that I had joined the perfect club.”

“This is a really exciting squad with so many great players, I can promise that I will work hard every day to learn from them and give everything to develop my game. The coaches have been fantastic since I signed, we have been in touch regularly and they have already given me a lot of great advice.

I have had time to prepare for this move, both physically and mentally. I have worked really hard to be ready to make the step up to this amazing club.”
