Arturo Vidal is on the verge of joining Inter Milan from Barcelona after agreeing on personal terms at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Ronald Koeman placed Vidal on the transfer market immediately after taking over the managerial reins from Quique Setien back last month.

Many were surprised when the 33-year-old midfielder joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2018.

Although his style of play contradicts Barca’s in many aspects, the Chilean star has become a regular at Camp Nou. Indeed, Vidal has registered 96 competitive outings during his two-year spell in Catalonia.

But, with his current contract running out next summer, he’ll be moving on before the deadline passes.

As per Football-Italia, the ex-Juventus man is close to agreeing on a two-year deal with Inter worth €6million per season.

Vidal’s agent harbors genuine hopes his client will undergo his medicals before or on Monday before committing his future to the Lombard giants.

Indeed, the transfer is no longer a matter of if but when.

The combative midfielder ticks many of the boxes for the type of player Antonio Conte is looking recruit this summer.

Despite his age, Vidal can offer much-needed experience and winning mentality to the side that last won silverware nine years ago.

He was the main reason Conte opted against pursuing a deal for Sandro Tonali. The Italian whizz-kid long seemed to be close to moving to Inter from Brescia.

But, AC Milan managed to hijack the deal at the 11th hour and steal the young jewel away from the Nerazzurri’s hands.

Vidal was also mooted for a reunion with his former teammate Andrea Pirlo at Juventus. However, the Italian manager has other priorities at the moment.
