The Napoli striker’s future is uncertain ahead of the next summer.
Liverpool have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Victor Osimhen over a possible transfer next year.
Osimhen’s contract situation has been a subject of concern for Napoli, with only 18 months left on his current deal and a reluctance on his part to sign an extension. This has raised questions about his future at the Italian club, leading to the possibility of Napoli having to sell him next summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that there was a verbal agreement with Osimhen in December. But he seemed relaxed by the 24-year-old’s hesitation, suggesting that he could cash in on the striker next summer.
However, a new report suggests a twist in Osimhen’s future. Italian journalist Valter De Maggio (via Sport Witness) has stated that the in-demand striker has already reached an agreement with Liverpool.
The reported talks are said to be between Liverpool and Osimhen personally, potentially bypassing Napoli’s involvement.
Napoli acquired Osimhen for €75 million in 2020, and should these recent reports hold true, it could signal a significant transfer deal in the making, with Napoli likely aiming for a substantial return on their initial investment. The coming months will be critical in determining Osimhen’s future destination.
