Jamie Carragher warns Manchester United they could miss out on Jadon Sancho to rivals Liverpool if they don’t sign him this summer.

Manchester United are at risk of missing out on Sancho if they don’t take action soon enough.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Borussia Dortmund star all summer. The 20-year-old was the club’s priority target but it has not gone according to plan so far.

The Bundesliga side have played hardball all along and insist United must meet their €120m valuation for Sancho.

The Manchester outfit remain favorites to land their target but not for long. Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool could come into the picture if United fail to land the highly-rated forward this summer.

“United have got a clear run at Sancho now – but that will change if he’s still at Dortmund next year. I’d be very surprised if Liverpool didn’t try to sign him next summer,” the former Liverpool defender told the Mirror.

“That’s why I think United will pay what they have got to pay.”

“When United have paid big fees for players in the past we’ve all laughed and said, ‘they’ve been done again’. People called [Man Utd chief executive Ed] Woodward a joke – selling clubs could always get an extra £10m or £20m from him.”

“Now Borussia Dortmund have asked £108m for Sancho. And because United haven’t paid it straight away everyone is criticising them.”

“Woodward is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t.”

Just recently, Sancho spoke on his future and said he was unbothered by rumors of his exit making the rounds. He is only focused on Borussia Dortmund right now.
