Chelsea plot to hijack Arsenal move for €55m target

The Blues have made contact over a potential transfer for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.

Five clubs have approached Jesus’ agent, Marcelo Pettinati, as the 25-year-old Brazilian prepares to leave Manchester City. The Premier League champions want a transfer fee of around €50 million to €55 million.

Arsenal have made signing Jesus a priority and want him ‘at all costs’, but will face competition from the likes of Chelsea. [CaughtOffside]

Lukaku can re-join Inter on one condition

Chelsea will allow Romelu Lukaku to re-join Inter Milan on loan if the transfer deal makes sense financially.

Lukaku, who joined the Blues last summer from Inter for a club-record £97.5 million fee, is ‘desperate’ to return to San Siro. Inter can’t afford to sign him permanently. But while Chelsea may cover some of the striker’s £325,000-a-week wages, they expect the Italian club to cover the bulk of them and pay an additional loan fee of around £25 million. [Guardian]
