The in-form attacker was enjoying himself against Liverpool until he was forced off the pitch after picking up a knock on his knee.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has calmed fears over Marcus Rashford’s injury by declaring the forward is fit to face Sheffield United.

Rashford registered a goal as well as an assist before hobbling off the Old Trafford tunnel in the final few minutes of the 3-2 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup 4th round.

His fitness became a cause of concern when Solskjaer revealed a knee problem for the 23-year-old post-match.

The England international has been key to Manchester United’s magnificent form in the Premier League, contributing seven goals and eight assists in 17 games, and he will get the chance to add to that tally on Wednesday.

“Marcus is available, yeah. He trained this morning, so [he’s] available for selection,” the Red Devils boss told in his pre-match press conference.

“I think he tweaked his knee, but he’ll be fine. He trained fully this morning. We’re looking strong, which is a good place to be in.”

Manchester United are leading the Premier League title race at this point of the campaign for the first time since the departure of their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Solskjaer added: “We’re not getting carried away. We know we have to get consistency, results, performances.

“We know that this is the start of something, we just have to be competitive and keep improving.”
