The Norwegian manager has showered praise on his veteran summer signing who has enjoyed a strong start to life in England.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has labeled Edinson Cavani as “one of the most hard-working center-forwards” while urging other Manchester United forwards to learn from him.

Cavani, though unable to find the back of the net, was influential in Man United’s FA Cup 4th round win over Liverpool. Playing all 90 minutes, he remained a threat for the opposition defenders throughout the game and won the free-kick through which came the winning goal.

The Uruguayan marksman was deemed a ‘panic buy’ when the Red Devils signed him on a free transfer on the deadline day of the summer market.

Regardless, he is increasingly becoming a valuable asset in Solskjaer’s squad with the team benefiting from his vast experience and the ability to lead the line.

“Anthony [Martial], Marcus [Rashford], Mason [Greenwood], Dan [James], all our forwards they have to use the time Edinson is with us to the best effect,” said the United boss, via Goal.

“They have to learn off his movement, you have to learn off his attitude, his desire to win.

“He’s one of the most hard-working center-forwards but he is also one of the cleverest, his movements inside the box are very good. You see his header towards the end. There is loads they can learn from him.

“They’ve got to learn from him. Look at his fitness, he’s 34 next month, and the way he has looked after himself.”
