Two Premier League clubs are reportedly keen to sign Barcelona’s Sergino Dest ahead of the next season.
The USMNT star left Barca to secure more playing time at AC Milan last season. But he managed to make only 14 appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri.
Milan have decided against making Dest’s move permanent, but the 22-year-old could still leave Barca in the current transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Crystal Palace are considering a move for Dest ahead of the next campaign.
At Palace, Dest could link up with fellow USMNT stars Antonee Robinson, Tim Ream and Chris Richards. However, the Spanish source claims Fulham have also joined the race to sign the right-back in recent weeks.
Dest has a €400m release clause on his Barcelona contract. But the Spanish side are reportedly open to selling him for around €17m.
Dest’s Barcelona career never really took off after his move from Ajax in 2020. The young full-back has made 72 appearances at the club, slipping behind the likes of Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso in the pecking order.
Barca are under pressure to sell several players and free up more space on their wage bill this summer. Their current asking price for Dest is around €3m less than his buy-out option at Milan.
