The latest transfer rumors from around the footballing world, including Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and much more.

Man City could make another move for Messi

It’s no secret Manchester City would have loved to sign Lionel Messi in the summer. A potential link-up with Pep Guardiola seemed a real possibility at one stage until Barcelona denied his transfer request.

The Argentine will instead see out the rest of contract until June 2021 and will be free to leave Camp Nou from that point on. And should that opportunity arise, City’s chief operating officer Omar Berrada admits they could make another move. [Manchester Evening News]

Solskjaer plots double bid for Haaland & Sancho

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s summer transfer window didn’t live up to expectations at Old Trafford. The Manchester United boss spent the bulk of his efforts on trying to sign Jadon Sancho. That attempt, however, proved futile. Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward couldn’t strike a suitable deal with Borussia Dortmund for the winger.

It was a similar story with Erling Haaland, as Solskjaer believed a deal for a January transfer was in place. But Woodward pulled the plug on that move due to agent fees and the release clause that Haaland’s camp requested.

Saliba set to join Championship side on loan

William Saliba hasn’t played for Arsenal’s first team at all since joining from Saint-Etienne. He spent last on loan at the latter and was close to spending another season at the club only for talks to breakdown at the last minute.

It’s clear, though, Saliba has no role to play under Mikel Arteta after being left out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad. Thus, the Gunners boss plans to send him out on loan again. A move to the Championship appears imminent, with Brentford among the 19-year-old’s suitors. [Goal]

Could King be on his way back to the Premier League?

Aston Villa have made some decent signings this year and don’t intend to stop just yet. It appears the club may do a last-minute clear out to make a fresh bid for Bournemouth’s Josh King, who also interests West Ham. [Football Insider]

Anwar El Ghazi, Frederic Guilbert, and Henri Lansbury could leave Villa Park before the English domestic window ends on October 16.

Real Madrid shut the door on Pogba’s dream move

But the Spanish champions have ruled out the prospect of the Manchester United midfielder donning the famous white jersey despite coming close to a deal in recent years. [Diario AS – Spanish]
