Reports from France claim Juventus are preparing their first formal offer for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
After impressing with Lyon last term, Aouar is wanted by the crop of Europe’s elite.
The Frenchman was a key figure as the Ligue 1 side exceeded expectations on the continental front.
Aouar pulled the strings in midfield against Manchester City as Lyon secured a surprise victory over the English giants.
Following his performances, it’s no surprise a number of sides are interested in the 22-year-old. Lyon’s sporting director Juninho did confirm a number of key departures would happen at the club this summer. That all but fueled the rumors even further.
So far, the likes of Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester City have all shown interest in Aouar. Earlier reports claim the midfielder prefers the Serie A champions of all interested parties.
Latest reports from French outlet FootMercato now claim Juve are ready to step up their interest by making a bid for the player.
The report says Lyon will look for around €60m for Aouar and it’s unlikely Juventus will be able to offer that.
Rather, the Serie A giants will look to offer players in the mix or potential swap-deals if possible.
Arsenal and Manchester City remain interested in Aouar as a possible summer exit looms.
While talk of his future continues, recent comments from Aouar himself hints his only focus right now remains Lyon.
