According to a recent report, Man United is actively trying to sign a Real Madrid star during the next summer transfer window.

According to a new report coming from Spain, Man United is already in advanced conversations with a Real Madrid star. El Chiringuito reported on Raphael Varane having meetings with the Red Devils on the down-low because he wants something different in his career. After winning several titles with the Spanish giants, Varane might be tempted by a new challenge in the Premier League.

Manchester United are one of the few clubs where he could grow to keep winning titles in a different league. The report suggests that the defender decided to not renew his contract at Real Madrid, which ends in the summer of 2022. With that in mind, Los Blancos would have to sell him this summer if they want to earn some money for his transfer. Otherwise, he will leave the club for free. This opens the door for the Spanish giants to also start looking for a different defender apart from Sergio Ramos’ possible replacement.

Zidane opposes Varane’s exit.

Even though Raphael Varane might have taken a final decision to leave Real Madrid, many things still need to happen first. This obviously includes convincing Zinedine Zidane to agree on his exit from the Spanish club. As one of the most successful managers in the club’s history, ‘Zizou’ considers Varane essential for all that success. At only 27 years old, the France international is just entering the most competitive years of his professional career.

Zidane considers he will someday become Real Madrid’s captain when Sergio Ramos leaves for good. There is no scenario in which the gaffer considers a future without one of the best defensive players inside his roster. Obviously, the coach will do everything in his power in order to convince Varane he needs to stay.
