Just before ‘El Clasico’, Sergio Ramos shared his opinion on the days when Leo Messi dominated Real Madrid in Spain.

Even though he’s struggled in recent years against Sergio Ramos, Leo Messi is still the all-time top scorer in El Clasico. The Spanish defender is about to miss the upcoming crunch match between the biggest clubs in La Liga. But he is taking this time to promote his documentary that Amazon is airing right now. During one of the episodes, Ramos spoke about Messi’s true value against Real Madrid.

In a rare moment of clarity for him, Sergio recognized Leo’s greatness to Real Madrid supporters’ dismay: “We’ve suffered against Messi during these years,” Ramos said in his documentary series ‘The Legend of Sergio Ramos’. “Perhaps if Barcelona didn’t have him, we would have won more titles. There was a time when we faced the best Barcelona in history. We had a great coach like [Jose] Mourinho, but it was hard for us to beat them. We didn’t win much and there was a lot of tension, caused by either them or by us.”

Can Messi dominate Real Madrid again?

Considering they aren’t playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, Messi might not feel as motivated to perform as he does in that stadium. However, he recently found the motivation to believe he could stay at the club after this season due to recent results. If Barcelona wins next Saturday, they have the chance to take the top of La Liga if Atletico loses points against Real Betis.

Sergio Ramos must be gutted he will miss the most important game of the season against Leo Messi. But he confirmed yesterday that he trusts his teammates to get a good result on Saturday. If Real Madrid wins against Barcelona, they have the same chances the Blaugranas have of taking the top of La Liga. Who will be the victor next weekend?
