Atletico Madrid has reportedly set at least two transfer targets to replace Diego Costa after terminating his contract.

If you haven’t heard by now, the rumors turned out to be true. Diego Costa has parted ways with Atletico de Madrid six months before the end of his contract. The player asked to leave the club due to ‘personal reasons’ and is now free to receive contract offers from any other side.

Naturally, the Colchoneros will be looking into the transfer market for options to replace the Spanish striker. Although the club can count on the services of Joao Felix, Luis Suarez, and Angel Correa, Diego Simeone is looking for other attacking options.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretto was the first to report Costa’s departure from Madrid. Moreover, he disclosed at the time that Atletico was studying the signing of Arkadiusz Milik. The Polish striker tried to leave Napoli last summer and has been sidelined ever since. Arek Milik, who scored 14 goals for the Italians last season, will try to make a winter move away from Napoli.

Additionally, Spanish radio Cadena SER has reported that the Colchoneros are looking for a more affordable option in the market. Atletico has made contact with Betis forward Loren Moron. The 26-year-old, currently valued at €15 million, would join Simeone’s squad on a loan. The club will reportedly offer €2 million for the deal in January. Moreover, they will remain with the option to buy for only €8 million.

Loren Moron has been at Real Betis since 2014. The striker has only netted the goal once this season, which may explain why the club may allow him to leave for a lower fee.
