Toni Kroos is expected to miss the two upcoming fixtures for Real Madrid after the extent of his injury was officially confirmed.
Real Madrid managed to snatch all three points from Real Betis on Saturday with a 3-2 victory, but the match even then brought major bad news.
Toni Kroos, one of the best performers of the match, was forced to walk off the pitch late in the first half due to an injury.
Real Madrid on Monday revealed that the German international has sustained a knock on his left hip.
The medical report released on the official club website read: “Following tests carried out today on our player, Toni Kroos, by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the left gluteus medius.
“His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
It is expected that the injury will keep the midfielder out for his side’s first home game of the 2020/21 La Liga season against Real Valladolid on Wednesday. He could also miss the trip to Levante the next weekend.
Kroos is a calm and controlling presence for Los Blancos in the middle of the park and his absence could be fatal.
Zinedine Zidane, however, has several excellent options to choose from with the likes of Modric, Casemiro, Isco, Martin Odegaard, and Fede Valverde at his disposal.
