As per a report, Liverpool’s supposed interest in Aaron Ramsey could go on to affect Arsenal and their summer plans in one way.
Arsenal might have been dealt a potential transfer blow ahead of the summer.
The Gunners’ transfer interests are likely to center around loan star Martin Odegaard. However, Real Madrid are reportedly unwilling to sanction a permanent move for the 22-year-old.
It means Arsenal may be forced to look elsewhere to fill the creative void in their midfield.
In fact, it could lead the Gunners back to Lyon star Houssem Aouar, who was a target for the north London side last summer before they decided to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid instead.
Before Odegaard joined on loan and began to impress, it was reported that Aouar would remain on Arsenal’s shortlist ahead of the summer window.
However, if the Frenchman is the second option to Odegaard, there may be a problem thanks to Liverpool and a certain former Gunners midfielder.
Reports claim Liverpool are considering a swoop for former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey ahead of the summer and that the now Juventus midfielder could be made available.
It is a boost for the Reds, but it could lead to a real blow for Arsenal. A recent report by CalcioMercato claims that should Ramsey depart this summer, Juventus could turn to Aouar as the Welshman’s replacement.
Aouar has shined again for Lyon this season, scoring six and assisting four times in 26 appearances across all competitions.
That follows his nine goals and 10 assists across all competitions last year, a run of form that sparked Arsenal’s interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, this could all change if Real Madrid suddenly decide to sanction a move for Odegaard. Even at that, Arsenal will have to battle a number of sides for the youngster’s signature.
