Mohamed Salah took advantage of a rare off-weekend for Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku to move level with the Premier League Golden Boot leaders.

Another weekend of Premier League action saw its fair share of twists, leaving both the title and Golden Boot races wide open.

Two-time Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah has moved level with West Ham striker Michael Antonio and Leicester City star Jamie Vardy as the joint-leaders in the scoring charts on five goals in six games.

The Egypt international scored for the fourth game in a row during Liverpool’s 3-3 draw at Brentford on Saturday. Given he has averaged just under 24 goals every Premier League season, Ronaldo and Lukaku could have some serious competition.

Both strikers failed to score at the weekend. Ronaldo drew a blank for the first time since his Manchester United comeback in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Lukaku also failed to find the back of the net as Chelsea fell to a 1-0 home loss to title rivals Manchester City.

Despite going two games without an assist, Paul Pogba’s haul of seven assists in the charts will take some beating. The Manchester United midfielder is still in pole position for the Premier League’s Playmaker of the Year award.

The World Cup winner’s closest rivals are Michail Antonio (West Ham), Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), and Abdoulaye Doucoure (Everton) on three assists.

What about the league standings?

Defeats for Chelsea and Manchester United at the weekend have seen them slip to third and fourth places respectively in the Premier League. That said, they are just a point behind leaders Liverpool.

The big question is, can Brighton go on top of the Premier League? The Seagulls face Crystal Palace on Monday. They are just two points behind Liverpool in sixth place, so a win at Selhurst Park will guarantee the top spot.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have returned to the top-10 of the league standings after a 3-1 win over Tottenham. Leeds have slipped into the relegation following a 2-1 defeat to West Ham, and Norwich made it six defeats on the bounce.
