Showing great fighting spirit, the Bees made sure to not leave empty-handed from an intense and action-paction contest against the Reds.

Brentford continue punching above their weight as they refused to accept defeat against Liverpool and, after coming back twice, ultimately settled for a stalemate in a six-goal thriller on Saturday.

Brentford struck first but they found themselves trailing after less than half an hour as Diogo Jota leveled the score before Mohamed Salah scored his 100th Premier League goal and handed Liverpool the lead.

The Bees got back into the game near the hour-mark through a Vitaly Janelt strike but once again went behind when Curtis Jones got on the scoresheet just four minutes later.

However, Thomas Frank’s men were determined to not leave empty-handed and they beat Alisson Becker once again in the final 10 minutes, with Yoane Wissa finding the back of the net with a beautiful chipped shot.

Although not an ideal one, the result was enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side to build a slender one-point lead over defending champions Manchester City at the top of the table.
