The Tottenham Hotspur coach continued his remarkable start to life in north London to help the club move two points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has made Premier League history by amassing 23 points in his first nine matches.
It’s the most points any Premier League manager has earned in their first nine outings. Mike Walker and Guus Hiddink were the previous record-holders at 22 points each. These came during their respective spells at Norwich City (1992/93) and Chelsea (2008/09).
Postecoglou broke the record after overseeing Spurs’ 2-0 victory over Fulham on Monday.
“It’s [a] credit to everyone,” the coach said.
“We’ve had a really encouraging start to the season for sure. Performance-wise, we’ve been really consistent.”
Son Heung-Min and James Maddison scored the goals in the London derby.
The 2-0 win moved Tottenham two points clear at the top of the Premier League table. They remain unbeaten in the league under Postecoglou, who arrived from Celtic in the summer. It’s the club’s best start to a season since the triumphant 1960/61 campaign.
Spurs have the opportunity to further extend their lead at the top of the table in their upcoming match against Crystal Palace on Friday.
