In the wake of Lionel Messi’s arrival, a couple of players have been linked with a move away from Parc des Princes.
Mauricio Pochettino plays talks of Kylian Mbappe’s exit from Paris Saint-Germain by asserting the forward “is our player and will remain so.”
Any news regarding Mbappe’s renewal with Paris Saint-Germain remains to be non-existent and, from a pessimistic yet not entirely unrealistic perspective, seems a distant possibility.
This spells trouble for the Parisian club as they are running out of time from potentially losing their prized asset for free next summer, with the 22-year-old forward having entered the final 12 months of his current contract.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently suggested there’s no real reason now for the Frenchman to push for an exit considering Lionel Messi’s arrival has made their star-studded team significantly more stronger.
“Will Mbappe still be with us in three weeks’ time? I have nothing to say about what the president said,” Pochettino told a press conference, per Marca.
“Kylian is our player and will remain so.”
Mauro Icardi is another player whose future at PSG has been up in the air in recent weeks.
“He is a team player, and although in football anything can happen, nothing invites us to think that he has a future away from PSG,” Pochettino added on Icardi.
