The French forward’s future remains up in the air as he continues to delay committing his future to the Parisian club.

Kylian Mbappe has “no excuse” to leave Paris Saint-Germain now that they have signed Lionel Messi, insists club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Mbappe continues to be linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain, with Real Madrid mooted as his next destination.

It has been reported PSG would be willing to sell the 22-year-old to Real Madrid in this transfer window out of fear of losing him for free in the next one.

However, the World Cup winner could now be tempted to stay put at Parc des Princes considering how significantly the club has strengthened the squad this summer.

“I think we have the most competitive team. Now there is no choice for Kylian but to stay here in Paris,” Al-Khelaifi said, per Independent.

“I think everybody knows the future of Kylian, people from Paris and the players.

“He is a really competitive player. He wants to win, he wants to win trophies, he said it in public.

“He wanted a competitive team and I think we have got the most competitive in the world. So there is no excuse for him now. He can’t do anything else but stay.”
