We take a small trip down memory lane to remember the day in which Zlatan Ibrahimovic reached 500 career-goals as a Galaxy player.

Even though he is nearing 40 years old, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still playing at the highest level and today we remember when he reached 500 goals. Throughout his whole career as a pro baller, Ibra took a “break” from European football in order to get back to his best.

He was fresh out of a nasty knee injury that nearly ended his career at Manchester United. Although he knew he couldn’t maintain the same pace at the Premier League. Zlatan vowed to return to the highest level after this short stint. The LA Galaxy decided to make history and signed the star for the next two seasons.

Zlatan breaks the MLS.

Ibra’s arrival to the MLS was everything we dreamed it could be, the man presented himself with a spectacular brace against LAFC in ‘El Trafico’ derby of Los Angeles. After that, the man did as he pleased in the tournament without getting a chance to fight for a trophy.

However, Zlatan did make a long-lasting impression that left everybody wanting for more players of his stature. Out of all those goals he scored while sporting the LA Galaxy kit, there is no question that the one against Toronto FC is the most memorable.

This goal came exactly two years ago today. It meant that Zlatan became the third active player in the world to reach 500 goals. Only Messi and Ronaldo are above the Swedish striker. The goal couldn’t be more Zlatan-esque for everyone’s delight. A spectacular backheel strike that perfectly describes a man who is arguably the most exquisite goal-scorer of all time.

Ibrahimovic’s return to Europe.

After that two-year stint in the USA, Zlatan Ibrahimovic finally decided to return to European football. The man came back to the Italian Serie A to represent AC Milan, one of his most beloved clubs.

We all feared the man wasn’t up for the task but he managed to convince everyone that he is still as lethal as always. As he starts his second season with the Rossoneri, Ibrahimovic will attempt to end Juventus’ reign in the country despite his veteran status. We salute the man who made us all remember what a spectacular goal-scorer he is.
