Ahead of PSG’s second leg with Manchester City in the Champions League, Neymar has made perhaps the ultimate vow.

Neymar has vowed to do anything to help Paris Saint-Germain beat Manchester City in the Champions League, even if he has to ‘die on the pitch’.

PSG visit the Etihad Stadium in England on Tuesday for the return leg of their semi-final tie with City.

The odds to reach the final, of course, are stacked against them. A 2-1 first-leg defeat, including two away City goals, means Mauricio Pochettino’s men have their work cut out to turn things around.

But Neymar, who got a yellow card in the first-leg defeat, is determined to help PSG complete a famous comeback.

“The first thing to do now is to rest and then really refocus on the Champions League,” Neymar told the club’s website after a 2-1 win over Lens on Saturday in Ligue 1.

“We had a very tough first leg against Manchester City, but we have to believe it no matter what the stats say or our percentage chance of winning.

“I think every Parisian should believe in us! I’m in the front line, and I’ll be the first warrior who goes into battle for the team.

“I will give the best of myself and I will do anything to bring this back no matter what, even if I have to die on the pitch.”

If PSG reach the final, either Chelsea or Real Madrid will be their opponents in Istanbul on May 29.

Neymar, meanwhile, scored the first goal and assisted Marquinhos’ match-winner in the club’s victory over Lens on Saturday evening.
