Alex Meret’s unfortunate own goal sealed a crucial win for the Blancos in Naples.

Real Madrid defeated Napoli 3-2 in their Champions League game on Tuesday. A thrilling game saw Carlo Ancelotti’s men continue their UCL campaign with another victory.

What happened?

The game started off with a fantastic pace as both sides pushed to get the first blood. After a few missed chances, the hosts broke the deadlock through Leo Skiri Ostigard in the 19th minute. Real Madrid, however, managed to make a quick reaction, scoring the equalizer through Vinicius Junior only eight minutes later.

The Blancos completed their comeback when Jude Bellingham scored their second goal of the night after a spectacular solo run. The goal saw Napoli restart their attacks as soon as the second half started.

Piotr Zielinski made it 2-2 by converting a penalty nine minutes into the second half. But that didn’t stop Real Madrid from restoring their lead. After a host of missed opportunities on both sides, Federico Valverde’s unstoppable strike from behind the box met Meret’s punch before bouncing into the back of the net.
