A Manchester United legend is annoyed at the club’s incompetency at recruitment while rival clubs make good use of the summer window.

Getting bodies on board has not exactly been the talking point of this summer for Manchester United, who have welcomed just one new face in the team so far.

Despite months of speculations, the Red Devils are yet to make progress in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, who is reportedly their No.1 target.

Man United were even understood to be leading the race to sign Sergio Reguilon only to lose ground to Tottenham later.

Meanwhile, the story has been entirely different on the other end of the country.

Chelsea, in spite of the recent financial crisis, have already closed transfers totaling upwards of €200 million, bringing in top talents such as Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, and Kai Havertz.

“The difference in the way Chelsea have done their business compared to say my team Man United… there is no noise, there’s nothing going on, all you’re seeing is bang – deal. Little bit of talk, bang-deal,” Rio Ferdinand told the Five YouTube Channel.

“That is what’s frustrating for me and all the Man United fans. Sancho was talked about months ago. Still not done, it’s so frustrating.”

“I’m not saying deals are easy to be done but Chelsea are showing deals can be done if you put the money down and it’s all done in the right way.”
