After a long couple of weeks negotiating his future, Romelu Lukaku has suddenly had a change of heart in regards to Chelsea’s bid.

A few weeks before Chelsea started bidding strongly for him, Romelu Lukaku said he wasn’t moving from Inter Milan. The Belgian striker found a new life as a Nerazzurro after winning the Serie A title last season as one of the main stars. But money and prestige can turn a man’s life around in the blink of an eye. Initially, Chelsea made a €100 million offer that was immediately turned down by the Italian champions. Lukaku still hadn’t publicly said anything but things have drastically changed over the last 24 hours.

This reeks of Mino Raiola all over. The infamous agent smelled the money and quickly told his client that he only cares about making him one of the highest-paid players in English football. Marina Granovskaia seems determined to sign Lukaku this summer and turn him into his top striker in the squad. But Inter Milan was also determined to prevent this from happening. However, the player was the one who needed to intervene in a mysterious fashion after looking at the second juicy offer.

How much did Chelsea offer today?

After an initial offer of €100 plus Marcos Alonso was rejected, the Blues put together a second massive offer. The English club decided to make a massive upgrade and offer €130 million with no players involved in the operation. In a wild turn of events, Sky Sports reported that the star is requesting Inter to take the offer. If everything happens as quickly as it has been for the past 24 hours, Lukaku will make a triumphant return to Chelsea. Also, his possible arrival would make the Blues an even bigger title contender for all the trophies they play this season.

This scenario only adds up to Inter Milan’s delicate financial situation. Owner Stephen Zhang could very well take up on the offer in order to help the club improve its economy. Just last season, Lukaku was one of the tournament’s highest scorers with 24 goals that helped his side win the Serie A title after Juventus’ decade-long dominance. We will likely hear an announcement over the next couple of days. That is, if everything goes well for Chelsea. Of course.
