After attempting to entice Romelu Lukaku to come back at Stamford Bridge once again, Chelsea has received a red light from Inter Milan.

Chelsea took steps to make an £85 million bid for Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku, which consisted of a Marcos Alonso switch move. However, according to reports from Goal, the Nerazzurri do not seem interested in selling their influential striker.

Ahead of the fresh 2021-22 Premier League season, Thomas Tuchel wishes to add a top centre-forward to the Blues’ squad. Though, it appears that the Italian outfit is quite adamant about letting go of their star man.

Taking into consideration the financial battle that Inter is going through, Chelsea were hoping to press through the bid. The basic idea was to make a handsome offer that Inter would find hard to resist.

Although, as it turns out, Chelsea have failed to intimidate the Italian side as they remain firm on their decision to not sell Lukaku. More so, the big Belgian also mentioned that he was excited to begin the new season with his title-winning team.

On the other hand, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has put an emphasis on Lukaku’s future with the Serie A club. He said: “Lukaku is not for sale. Lukaku is an important piece on the chessboard available to Simone Inzaghi.”
