Report: Chelsea is after one of Inter Milan’s biggest stars

According to a report from Sky Sports, Chelsea is after one of Inter Milan’s most coveted players for the current transfer window.

It appears Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel isn’t happy with what Timo Werner is giving him at the club and he is head-hunting at Inter Milan. There are two major stars at the Italian club that could be of major interest to the Blues. According to Sky Sports, the German manager is trying to get Marina Granovskaia to make a major offer for one of them. At this point, Lautaro Martinez is considered untouchable at the club but the financial situation could change things overnight.

However, the situation with Romelu Lukaku is very different right now. We are talking about a player who basically started his career at Chelsea but was rejected in previous years and sold. Now that he’s proven himself at the highest level, Tuchel is trying to get him back by any means necessary. The possible offer they would make for him is also impressive, but Chelsea fans aren’t sure if that’s the way they want to go. Plus, this is a player who feels completely in sync with Inter Milan fans with no reason for him to leave the club.

Chelsea have been in talks to re-sign Romelu Lukaku but they have not made a bid that has reached Inter's valuation of the Belgian. Chelsea have been warned it will take an offer of more than 100m to tempt Inter Milan to sell him.

How much would Lukaku cost?

Let’s say Inter Milan and Lukaku himself agree on a transfer. If this were to happen, the Italian club wouldn’t accept less than €100 million for his departure. After failing to meet expectations at Manchester United, the Belgian star found a new lifeline in Italy. He won the Serie A as one of the club’s best players and found himself a place in world football. As the Nerazzurri’s biggest star alongside Lautaro Martines, Lukaku has not reason to leave.

Sky Sports’ report suggests that leaving Inter would be very expensive for Chelsea but Thomas Tuchel seems set on getting this striker. As of right now, the negotiations between both clubs are ongoing but there is nothing confirmed yet.
