The Reds plan to express their sorrow for the Man United star after the tragic death of his baby son.

Liverpool and Manchester United will face off at Anfield on Tuesday. The Red Devils must play without Cristiano Ronaldo, who will miss the game after confirming the death of his newborn son on Monday.

Man United and Liverpool fans unite in a minute of applause for Ronaldo and his family. The supporters plan to make the gesture in the seventh minute of the upcoming league game.

Since the Portuguese superstar announced the tragedy, several Liverpool fan groups have put the “North-West” rivalry aside and planned to show sympathy for the 37-year-old.

“If you are lucky enough to be attending the game tomorrow evening, then please show a mark of respect to Cristiano Ronaldo and his family by taking part in the round of applause which will be held on the seventh minute,” one post by a popular Liverpool fan group reads.

Players of both teams will also wear black armbands during the game. However, Ronaldo himself will miss the game, as previously announced by Man United.

“Family is more important than everything and Ronaldo is supporting his loved ones at this immensely difficult time,” United said.

“As such, we can confirm that he will not feature in the match against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday evening and we underline the family’s request for privacy.

“Cristiano, we are all thinking of you and sending strength to the family.”
