Neither of Kai Havertz and Kevin Volland will participate in Bayer Leverkusen’s training sessions anymore, confirms Peter Bosz.
One of the longest-running transfer sagas of this summer involving Chelsea and Kai Havertz appears to be finally nearing its conclusion.
Talks between the Premier League side and the Bundesliga side regarding the transfer of the midfielder have been going on for several weeks now, but only recently it emerged that the two parties have reached an agreement over a transfer fee.
The 21-year old midfielder is set to become Chelsea’s record signing as the club have agreed to a fee of €100 million including bonuses and add ons to seal his move.
It is also understood that he will commit his long-term future to Stamford Bridge by signing a contract until 2025.
In other news, Kevin Volland is another player who looks destined to quit Leverkusen as he is linked with a switch to AS Monaco.
Both Havertz and Volland are currently with the German national side in Stuttgart ahead of their Nations League clashes with Spain and Switzerland, and Leverkusen head coach Peter Bosz is expecting neither of them to return to the club.
“Unfortunately, our squad has not yet been determined. I no longer expect that Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz will train with us again,” Bosz told a press conference on Monday, via Express.
“It is possible that other players will also switch. We definitely have to bring players in too.”
