The striker had been struggling to find the net in the early stages of Euro 2020 but brought his goal tally up to three in the quarter-final tie.

Harry Kane has been labeled the “best centre forward in World football” by James Maddison in light of his heroics against Ukraine on Saturday.

Kane bagged a brace as England stormed into the Euro 2020 semi-finals following a 4-0 victory over Ukraine at Stadio Olimpico.

The striker poked home from close range for his first goal of the night while guided a header through the legs of the goalkeeper for his second.

Questions had been asked about the Tottenham star’s poor form earlier in the competition, with many even calling for him to be dropped from the starting XI.

The Golden Boot winner at the 2018 World Cup had lacked his usual sharpness in front of goal in the group stages but he is back to doing what he does best in the knockout phase, and Maddison is happy to see Kane silence his critics.

“Harry Kane… best centre forward in World football for me,” the Leicester City midfielder wrote in a Twitter post.

“People tried to talk because he didn’t score for a couple of games but goes back to that old saying, form is temporary but class is permanent.”
