Ahead of a new adventure with Chelsea, Kai Havertz talked about his position on the pitch and how much Frank Lampard inspired him as a kid.

We all need to understand that Kai Havertz is exactly the type of player that Frank Lampard wanted. He reflects himself from his days as a professional. The English manager still didn’t have the sensation of having a player with the same characteristics he had until Havertz came along.

The German player himself confirmed this by praising his manager and revealing he was a fan of his football when he was younger. Kai comes to the Blues as one of the most interesting prospects. He has a chance to become one of the Premier League’s best.

It’s not a coincidence that the Blues paid so much money for his transfer. This youngster has the field vision and the talent to guide Chelsea to the top through his creativity. Plus, Frankie Lampard made sure he was well-surrounded by other world-class players. Havertz is very aware of this. But he also knows the value he brings to the table.

Kai reveals his true position on the pitch.

The new German prospect already played for the Blues, he made a great partnership with Timo Werner. They both already shared minutes in the German National Team but they have a lot of potential to discover at Chelsea.

Havertz offered his first major press conference on Thursday: “I watched many of Frank Lampard’s games as a kid,” said Kai via The Mirror.

“Frank was one of the biggest players in England of his time. He also liked the way I play as a midfielder — to go in the box, to score goals and make assists.

“The manager can give me tips and help me a lot to become a better player, so I am very excited that he is my manager now. I played every offensive position at Leverkusen. But it is very important to have that flexibility on the pitch.

“My best position is as a No10. I’m very glad to be here and play against or with the best players in the world.”

How long will it take Kai Havertz to adapt at Chelsea?
