Jesse Lingard has impressed since his loan move to West Ham, and his latest outing against Tottenham is proof of that.
Lingard has seen a blistering start to life at West Ham and continues to impress in all of his outings.
The midfielder fell way down the pecking order at Old Trafford and had to seek a move elsewhere in a bid to revive his career.
Lingard joined West Ham on loan in January and got off to a flying start with the Hammers, including a brilliant brace on his debut.
In West Ham’s latest outing against Spurs, the 28-year-old scored his side’s second goal, which went on to be the winning goal in a 2-1 score-line.
Following his latest performance, Lingard says he is enjoying his stint at East London and could yet be hinting at a permanent stay with the club.
“I am really enjoying my football,” he said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“The lads have taken to me really well. Today we had to graft for the three points and we showed what we are capable of.”
“Here at West Ham we are a team that likes to play forward and on the front foot and press as well. It is consistency. That is where I have struggled in previous experiences. Hopefully I can keep that consistency.”
“I have come here to play football. Football makes me happy and when we win.”
The win took West Ham to the top four and in contention for a Champions League place. However, Lingard says the Hammers are taking it one game at a time.
“It is brilliant, the lads have taken to me. I have settled in really quickly. I am playing each game with a smile and enjoying my football and that is the most important thing.”
“Everyone has the same mindset and goal for the end of the season and the same targets. We don’t look at the table too much and will take it game by game but this is an enjoyable position to be in.”
