A return to Tottenham would vastly benefit Gareth Bale in preventing his legacy from getting tarnished, suggests Micky Hazard.
Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale is hardy anymore the player he was during his early years at the club.
While tragic form and fitness remain a key contributor, Bale himself, to some extent is to be blamed for his downfall.
It is said that he no more shows the motivation required to play at the top level. He was absent from the team sheet for the Last 16 clash against Manchester City and Zinedine Zidane claimed that the Welsh forward himself requested not to be included.
All the signs are pointing towards the 31-year old’s exit from Santiago Bernabeu, and several destinations are being mooted.
And club legend Micky Hazard believes a reunion of Tottenham and Bale would be beneficial for both parties.
“Would I want to see him back in a Tottenham shirt? 100 percent, without a shadow of a doubt. Anyone who says Bale wouldn’t offer Tottenham anything is lying,” Hazard told the Daily Star.
“I sincerely hope he gets his career back on track because he’s such a special talent.
“I just think sometimes it’s hard to achieve the same levels of performance. You don’t want that legacy to be undermined, but whether he comes back or not, I want this resolved. The stalemate at Real is a tragedy.”
