Matteo Guendouzi responded to a compliment on Twitter that he received from ex-Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil.
Matteo Guendouzi sent a reply to Mesut Ozil after the Arsenal star mentioned him to become a future star. As you all know, both the players did not feature for many games under Mikel Arteta with an uncertain future. While Guendouzi left the Gunners for a loan move to Hertha Berlin, Ozil remains in exile until his contract expires.
The ex-Germany international has proved his wits from the sidelines with the help of social media. Ozil received a question during a Twitter Q&A concerning the most underrated player he has played with. He replied: “@MatteoGuendouzi – I’m sure he will be a big football player one day!”
Aimed for a dig?
It seems as if the Arsenal outcast directed his comments towards Arteta. Nevertheless, Guendouzi expressed his joy as soon as he received this big honour from his fellow teammate. The 22-year-old wrote: “Thank you my bro @MesutOzil1088. You know how much these words are important for me especially from you, one of the best player[s] in the world and the best I played with.”
The France international fell out of Arteta’s squad two times in the past. First was during a training camp in Dubai and the second after Arsenal’s defeat to Brighton in June. However, Guendouzi is now focused on developing his career in Germany in the Bundesliga.
