The Bayern marksman’s name has supposedly entered into the shortlist of the Sky Blues boss, who wants a new No. 9 in his squad.

Pep Guardiola has asserted that Robert Lewandowski “will stay at Bayern Munich”, denying Manchester City’s interest in the 32-year-old striker.

Lewandowski is one of several high-profile forwards linked with a move to Man City amid reports the club is in searching the market for Sergio Aguero’s successor.

City, though, are understood to be hot in pursuit of Harry Kane, who is seemingly desperate to leave Tottenham this summer.

“Lewy is so important for Bayern Munich and he will stay at Bayern Munich,” Guardiola proclaimed, as quoted by MEN.

“I am not going to talk to you and your colleagues about the 11 days left in the transfer market. I don’t know what is going to happen, nobody knows.

“Tomorrow we have a game, then prepare the Arsenal game and finish. When we come back from the international break, we will have all the squad to fight for every game.”

Guardiola was also asked if he’s happy with the current shape of his squad. He responded: “Absolutely – more than happy.

“It is the same team, except Jack Grealish for Sergio.”
