The Blancos won their 35th La Liga title on Saturday.

Gareth Bale has explained why he missed Real Madrid’s celebrations after winning the La Liga trophy.

The Blancos crushed Espanyol 4-0 in their league game on Saturday. The win was enough for Carlo Ancelotti’s side to secure the league title with four games to spare.

Real Madrid players celebrated after the final whistle, but Bale was not seen with his teammates at Santiago Bernabeu.

The Welshman explained the reason beyond his absence by publishing a Tweet later on.

The Real Madrid winger wrote“So disappointed that I’m not able to be part of the celebrations this evening due to a bad back spasm but really proud of the team for winning the title! Enjoy tonight boys! #HalaMadrid”

Bale has made only seven appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions this season. The former Tottenham star is set to leave Santiago Bernabeu when his contract expires at the end of the season.

With Real Madrid competing in the Champions League, Bale hopes to clinch his fifth UCL medal this season.

The Blancos must lock horns with Manchester City in the second leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday. Let’s see if the La Liga champions can come back from their 4-3 defeat at the Etihad Stadium.
