Barcelona to take Atletico to court over Griezmann

Atletico Madrid’s attempts to avoid paying a permanent transfer fee of €40 million for Antoine Griezmann could lead to a lawsuit from Barcelona.

Griezmann is in the second of a two-season loan at Atletico. The deal must be made permanent if the forward played in over half of the club’s matches in his first year.

Barcelona, however, believe Atletico are trying to avoid fulfilling the clause by restricting Griezmann’s game time for the current campaign. The Frenchman has only made substitute appearances at the hour-mark of every game so far. [Mundo Deportivo – in Spanish]
