Kylian Mbappe’s exit from PSG keeps looking more and more certain by the minute, there are many implications to it. One of them is the most obvious of them all: who is going to replace him at PSG? For starters, there is no other player in the world who can possibly replace the same type of player Kylian Mbappe transformed into. We are standing in front of a winger who has the soul of a striker with mad dribbling skills.

This kid has been compared to the young Brazilian Ronaldo when he was at the peak of his powers. Currently, there are no young players who resemble this type of footballer. Only Mbappe has a similar level of skill and he is practically irreplaceable. This is the main reason Nasser Al-Khelaifi ignored him when he requested to leave the club. PSG knows they will have a hard time finding a player who can deliver the same results Mbappe offers on a weekly basis. But there are some players who can at least get close to what he offers.

Who is Mbappe’s best-suited replacement?

Right now, there is only a handful of players who deliver similar results to Mbappe. Only one of the names we will mention is young, the others are seasoned veterans. Let’s start with the most obvious option of the bunch: Erling Haaland. The Borussia Dortmund player has even better numbers than Kylian Mbappe did at the same age. However, Haaland lacks in the dribbling and assist department.

But he compensates with an even greater goal-average than any player we’ve ever seen at the same age. Signing him will become a bidding war during the next summer and PSG will struggle to convince him. Other options are Mohamed Salah or Robert Lewandowski. But the Bayern Munich star won’t play for PSG. Mo does seem like he would leave to play for a different club when his Liverpool contract expires. As soon as Kylian decides to leave, he will cause a ripple effect that will affect several football clubs across Europe.
