After the postponement of their match against Man City, Everton issued a statement in which they demand a full disclosure to why it all happened.

Much like it happened with the Napoli vs Juventus match, the folks at Everton are not happy about the match against Man City. As you all know, today’s game was postponed by the Premier League without explaining the reason behind this decision. There are rules that need to be followed in all leagues and the Citizens should’ve lost the game by default. This means that Everton should’ve gotten the three points as per the Premier League’s official rulebook.

The problem here is that we are living through an atypical season in world football and the final call didn’t sit well with the Toffees. Carlo Ancelotti’s team is attempting to do exactly what Juventus did in Serie A. This is when Napoli didn’t show up to play for the same reason. A statement was released by the club in which they are demanding a thorough explanation.

Everton’s statement in full.

The Toffees wrote the following statement on their official website: “Everton Football Club regret the postponement of tonight’s match against Manchester City – not only for the 2,000 fans who would have been attending, but for supporters on Merseyside and across the world. Our players were prepared for the game, as were both the team staff and everyone at Goodison.

“Matchday is the most important date in our calendar. And this was a big one. Whilst Everton will always have public safety uppermost, we will be requesting full disclosure of all the information that Manchester City provided to the Premier League so the Club can be clear on why this decision was taken.”
